Triangle Freethought Society invites members and non-members to a virtual Happy Heathen Hour, BYOB.
This is a great, low pressure way to meet other nonbelievers in the Triangle and beyond. We started these out of necessity, but continue them for those who find value in a virtual opportunity to talk.

Volunteer at Food Bank (Raleigh)
Volunteer at the Food Bank - Join us to volunteer at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina in Raleigh, helping our food insecure neighbors and being "Good without God".
We will be working in their warehouse on a project that may involve sorting produce, packing non-perishable items, or any number of other activities.
Durham Secular Saturday Social

Triangle Freethought Society (TFS) invites you to our monthly Durham Secular Saturday Social to, held at Panera Bread in Patterson Place shopping center on Witherspoon Blvd in Durham. This is a space to connect and build relationships with fellow non-believers and non-religious people.

Join us at Namu, a Korean restaurant and coffee house in Durham, near Chapel Hill. Parking directly adjacent to Namu can be limited, however there is ample parking in the adjacent Walmart shopping center.

November Hike - Raven Rock State Park
We’re doing something a little different this month! We’ll be hitting two trails with lunch (BYO) in between. You’re welcome to join us for all or part of the day.
10 AM -12:15 PM: Campbell Creek and Lanier Falls Trail (4.7 mi)
12:15 PM - 1:15 PM: Lunch at visitor’s center, bring a bag lunch for your party (can be left in the car during the first hike)
1:15 PM - 2:30 PM: Raven Rock Loop Trail (2.6 mi)
Dogs: Leashed dogs are welcome if they're friendly and leashed. Bring extra water to keep you and your pooch hydrated.

We will be in the Dogwood Shelter, which is completely covered so we will plan to be here rain or shine.
We will grill the usual suspects (hamburgers, plant-based burgers, frankfurters, maybe other sausages); you can bring a favorite picnic side to share.
Our October Progam Meeting speaker, ethicist Aaron Rabinowitz plans to join us for lunch and conversation.
Alcohol is not allowed per park rules, but dogs and children are welcome. There are playgrounds near the shelter and the park is heavily wooded with plenty of shade.

Aaron Rabinowitz is a secular ethics educator with 10+ years experience teaching about human flourishing. He’s currently working on a PhD in education at Rutgers University, with a focus on Luckpilling.
Oct Hike - Lake Johnson Nature Park
September Hike
We will enjoy this 4.5 mi loop in the Lake Johnson Nature Area. This is a moderately challenging route, though it has little elevation change and some of it is paved. There is some shade for most of this trail, but bring sun protection and plenty of water.
Leashed dogs are welcome if they're friendly and leashed. Owners should consider if their dogs can handle the heat this time of year, and definitely bring extra water to keep you and your pooch hydrated.

We will be tabling at the Celebrate Fuquay-Varina festival to let the nonreligious folks in southern Wake county know that there’s a community for them. Let us know if you’d like to volunteer at the table or just swing by and visit.

Enjoy this 4.1 mi loop in Eno River State Park. This is a moderately challenging route, with rocks and roots throughout. There is some shade for most of this trail, but bring sun protection and plenty of water.
Leashed dogs are welcome if they're friendly and leashed. Owners should consider if their dogs can handle the heat this time of year, and definitely bring extra water to keep you and your pooch hydrated.

August Hike - Jordan Lake

Explore this 5.7-mile loop trail along Jordan lake. This is a moderately challenging route, with rocks and roots throughout. There is good shade for most of this trail, but bring sun protection and plenty of water.
Dogs are welcome if they're friendly and leashed. This trail is fairly covered, owners should consider if their dogs can handle the heat this time of year, and definitely bring extra water to keep you and your pooch hydrated.
July Hike - Umstead Park

Head out on this 5.9-mile loop trail near Raleigh, North Carolina. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 21 min to complete. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

Join us in Elfand at Panther Branch Natural Area, the newest hiking area on the Eno River. There’s a picnic table near the halfway point, so pack a snack or light lunch if you like and we'll take a break there. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
